2007 Coach Training

This Thursday evening, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Elm St. Park Recreation Center. If you RSVP, to Dave Wilcox, we'll have sandwiches for you and your kids, if needed. Let me know what kind you want.

We will do the field portion of the course first, then come inside for the classroom part.

Please wear appropriate soccer gear: cleats, turf shoes or tennis shoes; shorts; t-shirt or jersey; and shin guards. We will be spending a substantial amount of time on the field. Bring plenty of water, and a snack/lunch if you wish.

Please note that each coach MUST be age-appropriate trained, AND complete the AYSO Safe Haven Certification. If you have not completed Safe Haven Certification, you may do so online. Please see the link on our web site to do so. If you need your AYSO ID Number, please contact Cindy Collins, Regional Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate, or Tammy Slocum, Assistant Regional Child and Volunteer Protection Advocate. You will need your AYSO ID Number to take the online Safe Haven Certification. Contact information for Cindy and Tammy is on the regional board contact list.

Please contact Dave Wilcox, Regional Coach Administrator, or Craig Van Horn, Assistant Regional Coach Administrator, if you would like to attend coach training! See the region calendar on the web site for additional training dates.

Additional Coach Training

Check the Area Q web site for additional training in Area Q. Please contact the training contact before attending.

Online Safe Haven Certification Child and Volunteer Protection course - required for all Coaches and Referees - can now be taken from home!

Please print, and fax or mail a copy of your certificate to the Region at the fax number or mailing address on the region's home page, so that we can assure you received credit for this certification course.

Remember: there is absolutely nothing selfish about becoming better trained for AYSO coaching, refereeing or management. The better we become at our jobs, the better our kids are served by our programs.
