Renovation of Fellowship Field |
|
The Central
Coast Youth Sports Association would like to announce the renovation of
Fellowship Field
The CCYSA and the First Assembly of God
Church has negotiated a contract to lease the land on Pilgrim Way in
Arroyo Grande. The CCYSA has is currently developing the 5.25 acres, in
which 1.5 acres will be turned into a baseball/softball field and 3.5
acres of lawn for youth soccer and football. This land after it has
been developed will provide 4000 kids in the Five Cities area more room
for the youth to practice and play games on. This land will be
maintained by the CCYSA. We are asking for your help. With over 40,000
residents in the Five Cities, If everyone donated $5 dollars we can
make this project happen for the KIDS. Donations over $1,000 dollars
will be recognized on a 5’ x 5’ granite monument. We need to raise
$60,000 to complete this project. Your donation will help youth sports
in the Five Cites Area.
Please go to the
CCYSA web site at www.CCYSAInc.com
for more information.

Tammy Slocum Appointed Regional Commissioner
|
| |
At the AYSO National
Board of Directors meeting held March 15/16, 2008 at AYSO headquarters
in Hawthorne, CA, Tammy Slocum was appointed by the AYSO National Board
of Directors to serve a three year term as Regional Commissioner for
AYSO Region 83 beginning on April 1, 2008. Tammy's service follows four
years as Assistant Regional Commissioner and Tournament Director, prior
to which she served as Volunteer Coordinator for the region.
"Tammy is eminently qualified to serve as Regional Commissioner," says
current Regional Commissioner, Tom Lebens. "With the support of the 39
other volunteers who make up the regional board, I am sure that Tammy
will continue Region 83's tradition of providing a world class soccer
experience that enriches children's lives," says Lebens. "It gives me
great peace, as I leave office, to know that our kids are in such good
hands," Lebens reflects.
Lebens' term as Regional Commissioner ends on March 31, 2008, after
which he begins a three year appointment as AYSO Area Director for AYSO
Area 10/Q, serving kids from Santa Ynez and Lompoc to Paso Robles. |

Offside
|
| |
The
offside rule is one of the most misunderstood in soccer. At the outset,
it is often called the "offsides" rule, by unknowing spectators. There
is no "s" at the end of "offside". Here is a great
little video and explanation that will help you understand the
offside rule, or Law 11. |
