| Why do kids play soccer?
When asked why they play soccer, most kids
will tell you that they play to have fun, make friends, and learn new
skills. Many parents will tell you their kids play primarily to win games,
and for the accomplishments.
Kids stop playing when its not fun, too
competitive or they, or their parents, have unrealistic expectations of the
kid.
Kids should be able to compete against
themselves, finding a sense of accomplishment in their own improvement and
accomplishment.
Kids should be nurtured as whole children,
recognizing that kids have a great deal of demand on their time these days
from activities, athletics, education, religious participation, and the
like. We recognize the importance of balance in a child's life, and respect
for the child's need for time to be a child.
Region 83 is committed to serving, first
and foremost, the needs and wants of kids, and we ask for the help of the
parents, grandparents, extended family, and other concerned spectators in
supporting your kids, and your region, in this endeavor.
